A change of direction

Again…I’ve not been the best at keeping blogs, although I preach to my clients it is key to keep on blogging. But there you go.

Since I last wrote, I’ve had a career change.

I worked as a bar maid for 9 months at a local pub which was very different and enjoyable, I don’t really get how I survived and managed to pay my mortgage but I did. And here I am now, as winter is coming, in a new job, a new role, a new direction.

Taking my creative background, I am now Marketing Manager for a Medical Company in Harrogate. I’ve been there 5 weeks now and I love it. Every day is so different, I am left to my own devices, I have autonomy, I make decisions on the company s behalf and I have an incredible assistant.

Marketing, although I had never previously been in the role, is all about organisation and making the most for the company.

There is a lot of work to be done, despite the company trading for 25 years. It is rather distorted and needs some consistency and a plan. But this is what I am looking forward to creating. Starting from the bottom up, with a Brand Ethos and a yearly plan.

It is an incredibly busy company and many times things are done re actively rather than proactively.

This is a challenge I can really get my teeth into and am looking forward to the next few years taking the company from strength to strength.

I manage a range of websites as well as press, digital, and audio advertising. All in my remit.

So cheers, I can’t believe I’ve made the leap…everything happens for a reason and I will always follow the flow.
