Tomorrow evening I will be leading a presentation at Antenna Nottingham, the creative hub for the city.
Antenna provides a space for those starting out in the creative industry to meet and learn more about business skills, which are important when setting up a new company. Whether a sole trader or partnership, Antenna runs some fantastic events for those wanting to network and learn more about the creative industry.
Tomorrow evening, my laptop and I will be trotting down to Antenna to present a session on Copywriting for Business.
Yes, quite a broad subject, but I’m going to try and get down to the nitty gritty and get those companies thinking in a creative way and the correct way, which is generally, not shouting about what they do and saying “Look at us, we’re fab”, but more along the lines of- “Our services and products will benefit you, our customers because….”.
I got involved with Antenna this year as I like to support other creative industries, its a great way to meet people and be inspired by other work. I was lucky to be invited as a judge for the Amplify award, which set out to award new businesses with support and tuition, plus a residency at Antenna. After the huge array of applications, we decided on a few winners and had a very nice awards evening at Antenna.
It is a fantastic space, chilled out and the cafe serves some incredible food, definitely worth a visit, whether on a business meeting or wanting to get away somewhere quiet, where you can concentrate.
So, if you fancy learning about how to go about writing content for your website, engaging people using social media, or creating a business card that will really make you stand out from the crowd, come along to Antenna, Nottingham. The fun starts at 5pm, 19th June 2012.
